“NOJIMA Minoru Memorial” Tickets are Going on Sale in November!
Special Project: “NOJIMA Minoru Memorial”Acting as the Jury Chairperson for the 1st through 7th SIMC Piano Section, and later as Managing Committee Chairperson from 2020, NOJIMA Minoru who passed away in May 2022, was a pianist active at the forefront of the world, and brought many talented, young musicians to the world stage as a pedagogue.
In honor and appreciation of Prof. NOJIMA, this project will feature concerts held as a “NOJIMA Minoru Memorial” which will extoll his many achievements and carry on the will of this pianist who put forth tremendous effort in discovering and nurturing new generations of talent.
On Saturday, March 30 will be a performance by NODAIRA Ichiro, a leading composer and pianist in Japan who has succeeded Prof. NOJIMA in acting as Jury Chairperson of the piano section since the 8th SIMC. On Sunday, March 31 is a duo recital by the First Prizewinners of both sections of the 8th SIMC. In addition to the duo pieces will be works recorded to CD by Prof. NOJIMA before his passing.
