KIM Hyun Jung(Korea)
1st Prizewinner of the 6th SIMC Piano Section
South Korean pianist Hyun Jung Kim has established a remarkable list of international achievements throughout her career. She is the First Prize winner of 2016 6th Sendai International Music Competition in Japan, receiving numerous concert engagements. Kim, also, won the Second Prize and the Special Jury Award of 2010 Paderewski International Piano Competition, where she was awarded to perform around major cities in Europe.
She has been a top prize winner in; 2011 Seoul International Piano Competition, 2009 Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, 2010 Rhodes International Piano Competition and 2006 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. Previous accomplishments include First prize at the 2008 Asia Chopin International Piano Competition, and Second prize at 2008 Taipei International Chopin Piano Competition.
She has begun to strive internationally by performing with various orchestras including Tokyo Symphony, Sendai Philharmonic, Qingdao Symphony, Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic, Moldova IASI Philharmonic, Krakow Philharmonic, Kaoshung Symphony, KBS Symphony, Sungnam Philharmonic, Prime Philharmonic, Korean Symphony and Suwon Symphony. Her performances also have been broadcasted on KBS 93.1 FM, a leading classical radio station in South Korea.
Kim is being highly recognized among Japanese audiences after making her major accomplishment at Sendai competition. She successfully finished giving the nationwide recital tour in Japan, and her solos are scheduled up until 2019, with Sendai Philharmonic, Japan Philharmonic, etc.
She is currently pursuing her Artist Diploma in Piano Performance at the Peabody Institute of Music as a recipient of a full scholarship under the tutelage of Yong Hi Moon.
